THE Union of European Historic Houses Associations

The Union of European Historic Houses Associations (UEHHA) is an umbrella organisation for national historic houses associations, promoting the interests of Europe’s privately-owned historic houses, parks and gardens and their contents.

The UEHHA is a foundation formed, under the laws and regulations of The Netherlands, with a representative office in Brussels near the European institutions.

The UEHHA is dedicated to the conservation of Europe's great artistic and architectural heritage - its private historic houses, their contents, gardens, parklands and estates which represent about 35% of Europe’s “listed” heritage.

Historic houses, numbering about 50.000 major properties from across Europe, form an essential part of its cultural heritage. Successive Governments in all countries have recognised that these properties and their environments are best and most economically preserved in private ownership for the benefit of society and future generations. This heritage, however, cannot survive without a benevolent legal, fiscal, regulatory and environmental framework.
